Naples: A stream-lined four-day program offering certification in NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) will be offered in Bonita Springs in mid-November. In the past, anyone wanting NLP certification would have had to travel out of the area for training that often took fourteen days or more, and at a cost of two thousand dollars or more. This training is sanctioned by the National Federation of Neuro Linguistic Psychology (NFNLP), the fastest growing NLP certification organization in the world.
Peter O'Dell, the NFNLP Certified Trainer conducting this training, says, "People ask us how we can train someone in NLP in such a short period of time when those other programs take weeks and cost thousands of dollars. The answer is simple: We sat down and applied NLP techniques to teaching NLP. Since its inception, NLP has been noted for its ability to bring about rapid change in clients, but before NFNLP, no one had considered using those same techniques to accelerate the learning of NLP."
Local hypnotherapist Vivian Smith, who is sponsoring this training, notes, "This program truly is for everyone. Certainly, if you are a therapist, you can use the techniques to augment your practice. But people from all walks of life take NLP training and benefit from it. These techniques are based on how the brain really works. That is why NLP is often called 'An Owner's Manual for Your Brain.' I just think of it as a new tool for the tool box."
Highly regarded by therapists since its inception in late 70's, NLP has been popularized in books and on TV by Trainers such as Tony Robbins. In addition to the four-day program required for certification, class members will have the option of participating in a one-evening session devoted to using NLP techniques to improve your love life. There is no additional charge for this two-hour seminar, and participation is limited to those enrolled in the class. Peter O'Dell is a former resident of Naples, who now resides in Boca Raton.
